Michael Doran Death – Michael Doran has passed away suddenly after succumbing to injuries sustained in a traffic crash in Arcada Township. He was confirmed dead on Thursday, July 20, 2023 when the accident happened. He died leaving his friends, loved ones and family who will forever be missed. According to reports from the authorities, Doran was hit by a semi while driving southbound on Luce Road near Sanctuary Dr.
Michael Doran died at the age of 71. He served was a native of Ithaca, he served as a former educator and athletics coach. Initial findings of the investigation revealed that Doran’s pickup vehicle had driven across the center line. “It appears Doran may have had a medical event prior to the crash,” said Mike Morris, Gratiot County Sheriff.

Michael Doran was known to be one the best teachers, especially in math. He was always made his classes extra fun and very interactive. He will be gretal missed by his students, friends, family, loved ones and all those who had the privilege of knowing him him. “He was the BEST teacher!! How heart breaking!” Erin Cueller said in a recent statement. The Doran family needs all the love and support; the public is urged to keep the whole family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this time grieving the tragic loss of Michael.

The driver of the semi, a 57-year-old male from Mount Pleasant, was not hurt in the accident. At the site, Doran’s death was confirmed by medical personnel.
Alma District Fire Department, Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division, and Michigan State Police Accident Investigation Team supported the Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office at the scene shortly after the Alma District Fire Department received a dispatch at 2:20 pm to respond to an accident. Morris also mentioned that both occupants were fastened in their seatbelts and that it does not appear that drinking had a role in the incident.
