On May 30, police were called to the 5200 block of Five Fingers Way in Columbia for an event that officials claimed appeared to be a domestic murder-suicide. At approximately one in the afternoon, police were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of two male victims who had been shot.

According to the reports of the authorities, both brothers resided in the same house. According to the NYPD, there is no indication that any other possible suspects were involved, and the department is continuing to look into the motivation for the crime.

The university reported that a shooting had taken place inside its new School of Public Health on Thursday afternoon. The building is located in a bustling part of downtown Columbia.
Thom Berry, a spokesman for the state law enforcement division, has stated that he does not have any additional information concerning the possible murder-suicide. He claims that the two were located in the building housing the public health department, but he will not specify where they were found.
Berry asserts that there was not a situation with an active shooter. He described the circumstance as being secluded. A spokesperson at the school declined to respond right away. The shooting took place approximately two blocks away from the university’s basketball arena and a couple of streets away from the Statehouse. The street is consistently ranked as one of the busiest in the city.
