Miami Beach Shooting Today – On Thursday evening of July 27th, 2023, at 5:32 p.m., the Miami Beach Police Department responded to a disturbance call at 901 Lincoln Road. Upon arrival, officers found a male individual brandishing a knife and threatening two victims. To protect the victims and themselves, an officer had to use his firearm, and the subject was shot. He was promptly taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Unit and is currently in critical condition.
Fortunately, the two victims are safe and cooperating with the detectives on the case. Following standard protocol, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be conducting an investigation into the officer-involved shooting. It is important to note that all officers and other individuals in the vicinity of the incident are safe and unharmed.

On June 20, 2023, following a nighttime gunshot in North Miami Beach, a large number of law enforcement officers descended upon the area. Two bodies were discovered inside a residence that was located at NE 170th Street and NE 16th Avenue, according to the police. Daveanand Thomas, age 27, was reportedly one of the two people who were tragically shot, and according to sources, he was identified as one of the victims.
Photos of him that have been shared on social media show him wearing a jersey for the Miami Heat and also display a picture of him graduating from high school. His photo on his Facebook profile reveals that he worked as an Assistant Manager in Customer Service at Publix. His profile is located on Facebook. A third victim of the shooting was rushed to the HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition after the incident.
Behind the crime tape that was used to fence off an area, law enforcement officials could be seen questioning two males. It was stated that witnesses saw an investigator photographing the back of one man’s sneakers. It is unknown whether he was a witness to the incident or if he was even present in the house where it took place. The police have not commented on what may have prompted the shooting. They did not comment on whether or not they were searching for a shooter.
