A tragic incident unfolded in Huron Township on Wednesday evening, resulting in the loss of one life and injuries to two others. The Huron Township Department of Public Safety received a distress call at 10:12 p.m. reporting a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sibley and Middle Belt Roads.

Upon reaching the scene, first responders discovered that three vehicles had collided, with one of them completely engulfed in flames and its driver trapped inside. Unfortunately, the driver of the burning vehicle, believed to be a 24-year-old man from Taylor, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The severity of the injuries suggests that the crash involved both head-on and rear-end collisions.

Emergency services promptly attended to the injured parties. One driver was transported to a local hospital with multiple non-life-threatening bone fractures, while the third driver sustained minor injuries. The Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction Team joined the investigation to provide further assistance. Preliminary findings indicate that excessive speed may have played a role in the accident. The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be shared as they become available.
