Megan Saunders Death | Devon Elias Death – Megan Saunders was identified by the York County Coroner’s Office as the woman who was shot and killed by a 31-year-old man at a property in Dover Township before taking his own life has been named. The coroner’s office said Saunders who resided in the 4100 block of Strawbridge Court, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Later on at about 2:40 p.m. a man from Prince George’s County, Maryland, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head. He was identified 31-year-ol Devon Elias.
Elias was said to have entered Saunders’ home, shot her, and then lingered there for a number of hours before turning the gun on himself. Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene. It was reported that Saunders and Elias had a kid together. Saunders and Elias names were made public a day after a domestic dispute resulted in a six-hour standoff with law officials that resulted in the closure of streets and forced Dover Area Schools to be placed on a “keep out condition,” with kids being instructed to remain in their classrooms while law officers reacted to the issue.
A 911 call was placed after witnesses reported hearing anywhere from five to six gunshots, at approximately 8:30 in the morning, Officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Strawbridge Court in response to the incident. On arriving at the scene, the body of a woman in her 29th year was discovered by the police on a landing between the second and third floors. Northern York County Regional Police Chief David Lash stated that the 31-year-old man was discovered in a bedroom on the third floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head that he had inflicted upon himself.
