Matthew Mashburn Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – The victim of a fiery fatal crash in northern Conway County Tuesday morning has been identified by Arkansas State Police.
According to kvom.com, They say Matthew E. Mashburn, Jr., 18, of Conway, was driving a motorcycle north on Highway 9 at Center Ridge, actively fleeing law enforcement at a high rate of speed, when the motorcycle collided with a southbound Ford Ecosport making a left turn onto Ludy Road.
Before becoming engulfed in flames, both vehicles exited the route to the east. Mashburn died as a result of the accident. The driver of the Ford Ecosport, Lynda L. Marsden, 70, of Clinton, and a juvenile passenger in the vehicle were both injured and taken to Conway Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A vehicle/pedestrian accident that killed an Oppelo man in the overnight hours of Monday night in Conway County is also being investigated.
Travis Frank Sponer, 32, was a pedestrian heading north on Highway 9 near Oats Road around midnight when he was struck from behind by an unknown northbound vehicle, according to Arkansas State Police. Sponer was declared dead on the spot.
