Marshall Meadors Death – South Carolina doctor has died in what the coroner’s office is calling a drowning possibly secondary to electrocution. The victim has been identified as Upstate physician Marshall Meadors. According to reports, 65-year-old Marshall Meadors III, M.D., a resident of Anderson, South Carolina passed away following the tragic incident that happened near Lake Hartwell dock.
How did the Upstate doctor die?
The coroner reported that authorities received a distress call on Monday evening around 8 p.m. regarding an incident at Lake Hartwell and Midlake Heights Drive. Upon arrival, investigators discovered an individual submerged in the water. The man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the coroner suggested that Meadors’ cause of death was likely “drowning, possibly due to electrocution.” Further examination revealed exposed wires on an electrical box responsible for supplying power to the dock where Meadors had been swimming.

Dr Marshall Meadors, III, hails from Atlanta, GA, and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree at Wofford College in 1979. He then pursued his Medical Degree at The Medical University of South Carolina. His residency was dedicated to the AnMed Health Hospital Family Practice Residency Program. Dr Meadors specializes in Family Medicine as his primary field of expertise.
Dr Meadors holds esteemed professional certifications from the American Board of Family Practice, the American Medical Directors Certification Program, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to his role as a physician, Dr Meadors also serves as a Medical Director with the National Healthcare of Anderson. Throughout his career, Dr Meadors has actively contributed to various boards and committees.
