On the morning of May 20, at around three in the morning, deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence in Westlake located on Morning Glory Lane in connection with a shooting. The residents, Keyshawn J. Bias, 22, and Chelci R. Richard, 22, both of 414 Morning Glory Lane, Westlake, reported that they were inside their home when they heard bullets coming from outside when the deputies arrived and spoke with them. Both residents are 22 years old. When the detectives arrived at the scene, they noticed that both the home and a Chevy Malibu that had been parked nearby had been damaged by multiple gunshots.
During the preliminary stages of the inquiry, the police learned that the Malibu that was found at the residence was probably associated with two further drive-by shootings that had taken place the previous evening. Wilson D. Leblanc, Jr., 20, 128 Calcasieu Street; Kadi E. Spikes, 17, 4016 Harvard Street; Diomond D. Duncan, 20, 418 N. Booker Street; Torrianna J. Bolster, 18, 401 S. Cherry Street; and a 16-year-old juvenile are the individuals who have been identified by detectives as the suspects responsible for the drive-by shooting on Morning Glory Lane. All of the suspects are from Lake Charles.
Upon additional inquiry, it was found out that Bias and Richard were in the Chevy Malibu and were responsible for shooting at a Nissan Sentra that was inhabited the previous night at Huber Park in Lake Charles by Leblanc, Spikes, Duncan, Bolster, and the juvenile. The Nissan Sentra was parked in front of Huber Park. After the incident at Huber Park, the two cars continued their exchange of gunfire at Brentwood Park in Lake Charles, which eventually resulted in the occupants of the Sentra opening fire on the house located on Morning Glory Lane. Everyone who was involved in the drive-by shootings was apprehended between May 21 and May 31, with the exception of Bias.
The teen was sent to the Juvenile Detention Center, while the adults were taken to the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Richard has been charged with aggravated assault for the shooting that occurred while he was driving, as well as unauthorized use of a weapon or dangerous instrument. The amount of her bond has been set at $250,000. Leblanc, Spikes, Duncan, Bolster, and the juvenile are all charged with aggravated assault by drive-by shooting, aggravated criminal property damage, and illegal use of weapons or hazardous instrumentalities. The teen is also charged with aggravated assault by drive-by shooting.
The bond for Leblanc has been set at $500,000, the bond for Spikes has been set at $250,000, the bond for Duncan and Bolster has been set at $450,000, and the bond for the juvenile has not been established at this time. Investigators are looking for a man named Bias who is wanted for aggravated assault by drive-by shooting and unauthorized use of firearms or dangerous instruments. The active warrant against Bias has a bail sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and was issued by Judge David Ritchie. If anyone has any information regarding his whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 491-3605 or Crime Stoppers at (985) 439-2222.
