Who was Mark Manges?
Mark was born on January 10, 1956, in Cumberland, Maryland. Following his high school football tenure at Fort Hill High School, Manges continued his football journey at the University of Maryland as a member of the Maryland Terrapins from 1974 to 1977. His notable achievement of gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated’s October 1976 issue attested to his prominence in the sport.
Additionally, he garnered recognition by being named to the All-ACC first team during his college football career. As he embarked on his senior year in 1977, Manges found himself in the spotlight as a Heisman Trophy contender. However, his aspirations took an unfortunate turn when he suffered a hand injury in the third game of the season.

In the 1978 NFL Draft, Manges was selected as the 105th overall pick in the fourth round by the Los Angeles Rams. In his current role, Manges actively contributes to the Fort Hill High School Scholarship Fund as a member of the Board of Directors.
