Marcus M. Johnson Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – Police in Kansas City are investigating two homicides that occurred overnight. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of N 27th Street on reports of a shooting at 8:55 p.m. Sunday. A man died from a gunshot wound outside a home, according to officers.
According to kmbc.com, Thirty minutes later, police were called to an unrelated shooting at 7300 State Avenue. A man was shot, according to police. He was taken to a hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The men fired in both cases have been identified, according to authorities. Marcus M. Johnson, 33, of KCK, was identified as the State Ave. victim. DeMonte Allen, 27, was the victim found on 27th Street.
KCK Authorities Chief Oakman is appealing to the entire community to assist police in solving these crimes. “I believe it is past time for us to stop talking about it, stop forming committees about it, and start acting on it in the streets. and truly demonstrate to the community that we are one, “Oakman explained.
