Marc Toney Death – University of California, Davis Alumnus Marc Toney of Mountain View, California has sadly passed away. He died on Thursday 14th September 2023 leaving loved ones heartbroken. He was announced dead on Tuesday by Saint Francis High School (Mountain View) Alumni through a post that reads “Please remember in your thoughts and prayers former Saint Francis student Marc Toney ’13 who entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 14”. The actual cause of Marc Toney’s death has not been revealed.

Marc Toney’s educational journey began at Saint Francis High School, from which he proudly graduated. He continued his academic pursuits at the University of California, Davis, where he successfully earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a focus on Managerial Economics in Business. During his time in high school, Marc Toney displayed exceptional talent as a pole vaulter. He garnered a remarkable collection of accolades, including three West Catholic Athletic League titles and two CIF-Central Coast Section championships.
In his senior season, he achieved a commendable sixth-place finish at the state championships. Notably, he held the fifth rank in the state with a personal record (PR) of 16-1. As a sophomore, he also secured the position of section runner-up and was honored with the title of Vertical Jumper of the Year. In the year 2014, Marc Toney participated in pole vault competitions on seven occasions.

Marc Toney Career
He reached his season-best performance by clearing an impressive height of 4.98 meters (16-4) while securing victory in the Causeway Classic Dual event. His excellence extended to the Big West Championships, where he scaled over 16 feet, accomplishing a height of 16-0.75 during a fifth-place performance. Notably, he replicated this achievement by taking second place at the Mt. SAC Relays. Additionally, Marc triumphed in the pole vault at both the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational. Marc Toney’s dedication and skill did not go unnoticed, and in April 2018, he received the prestigious title of Big West Field Athlete of the Week.
He etched his name into the school’s history books by soaring to a school record pole vault height of 5.45 meters during the NCAA Finals on June 6, 2016. This remarkable feat placed him in a three-way tie for the top spot in the UC Davis Record Book. Throughout the season, he consistently performed at a high level, earning him a place in the top 12 highest measurements on the UC Davis performance list, with an impressive nine of those being either first-place or second-place finishes.
