According to a press release issued by the Port Neches Police Department, 21-year-old Trevon Darion Hull was killed by gunfire by two police officers. Hull caused damage to a patrol unit while attempting to elude the police in a vehicle that had been stolen. The officers reportedly began shooting at Hull as he exited the vehicle while wielding a pistol. The incident that led to the shooting took occurred in a cul-de-sac that was located outside of the Merriman Square Townhomes.
Two officers who were involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues. Port Neches Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Meriam in response to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a residence just after 7 o’clock in the morning. Hull was found by the police to be a passenger in a vehicle when they arrived. A valid arrest warrant was issued for Hull because he had violated the conditions of his probation for the burglary charge he was serving. The district attorney has put in a motion to revoke the probationary status of the defendant.
The Texas Rangers are currently investigating the incident.

After the officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 7 a.m. today, July 7th, 2022, the authorities revealed that a suspect was engaged and shot, and that the suspect was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting. The shooting occurred after an officer was involved in the incident. It was not immediately released any additional specifics regarding what led up to the officer-involved incident that took place. No officer sustained any injuries, and the identify of the person who was shot was not immediately made public.
