Man killed, 5 teens in custody after Philly accident, police report: After a deadly crash in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, a man is dead and five teens are under arrest. Around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the intersection of Front Street and Hunting Park Avenue in North Philadelphia, a man on a Harley-Davidson motorbike was struck by a stolen Kia SUV driven by a 17-year-old who had run a red light.
The motorcycle’s driver, who looked like a man in his 40s according to the police, was pronounced dead at the site. The motorcycle and the Kia came into contact. The driver and the passengers all leaped out on foot as the Kia traveled approximately 1,000 feet north on Front Street, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters Tuesday night. Small stated the cops pursued the driver of the car.
According to Small, four other adolescents, ages 15 to 17, as well as the driver of the vehicle were being pursued by the police. According to Small, all five of them took off on foot and ran in various directions for almost two blocks before being caught by police. On Monday, Small reported to media that the car had been stolen. NBC10 was able to get security camera footage that showed police officers trailing the SUV right after the collision. According to 6ABC, Small responded that the stolen car was the subject of an investigation when asked if the police were tracking it.
Police still hadn’t recognized the deceased guy, the driver of the stolen car, or any of his passengers as of Tuesday night.
