The tragic shooting on Monday morning came less than 24 hours after another fatal shooting less than a mile away. According to Tacoma police, a 48-year-old male was found shot to death in a parking lot in the 4300 block of East Portland Avenue on Monday morning.
Officers arrived just after midnight and discovered the individual unresponsive in a parking lot. The man was pronounced dead at the spot.
The event is being treated as a homicide investigation. Detectives had to close East Portland Avenue as they investigated, but they were able to reopen it shortly after 3 a.m.
This is Tacoma’s second fatal shooting in less than 24 hours. In the 3800 block of East How Street, less than a mile away from Monday’s killing, a lady was shot to death and another man sustained life-threatening injuries on Sunday morning.
