Death: The inmate who died at the Linn County Correctional Center has been identified – Malorie Hults, 31, of Cedar Rapids, was identified as the inmate who died on Thursday by the Linn County Correctional Center. At around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Hults was apparently booked into the penitentiary facility.
According to kcrg.com, She was detained and charged with assault domestic abuse with injury without intent, authorities. Hults was checked on at the detention institution at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, according to staff.
Just after 2 a.m., the correctional officer went to make normal cell inspections when the offender was discovered lying on the floor, pulseless and gasping.
Staff started CPR and hooked her up to an AED. Medical assistance was also supplied by paramedics. The detainee was transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, where she died. Hults’ body was transferred for an autopsy to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny. Obituary Has Not Been Released
