According to reports, a shopper reported witnessing a possible exchange of gunfire inside the mall. The report prompted a heavy police presence at the location. This is an active scene and everyone is been urged to avoid the area at this time. No suspect is in custody and the police department is on the scene. At least an ambulance is currently at the scene at this time. UPDATE: Lumberton Police Department says a victim was located suffering from gunshot injuries inside the Walmart. The unidentified victims have been transported to an area hospital where their condition remains unknown at this time.
The suspect identified only as a male has been taken into custody. A firearm was recovered from the scene. This is an active investigation and no motive is currently available.
