Lucas Joyce Death – Two young teens died following a deadly car accident that happened early this morning. The victims were identified as Lucas Joyce and Kirsty Bohan both from Headford. According to reports, Joyce and Bohan passed away from injuries sustained in the crash. On Monday, April 10, 2023, around 5:45 a.m., the crash happened on the L6127 at Glennagarraun in the Ballyfruit area of Headford, County Galway.
How did the crash happen?
Two other teens between 13 and 14 years old were also in the single-car accident with the two people who died. Emergency workers rushed to the scene of the accident on the L6127 at Glennagarraun, Ballyfruit, where Lucas was sadly pronounced dead. The other three people in the car were taken to University Hospital Galway, where Kirsty was later declared dead. The other two people in the car are getting medical care for their injuries.
School statement
Lucas and Kirsty both attended Presentation College Headford have said they are ‘deeply saddened’ by the news and paid tribute to the victims in a letter posted on social media. The letter addressed to parents read: “The school has experienced the sudden and tragic deaths of two treasured members of our PCH community. We are deeply saddened by these deaths. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of these students.
The school will be open tomorrow, April 11th from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm to offer support to classmates, friends and any students who need support. The study hall will be available. We will have staff members and psychologists from NEPS (National Educational Psychological Service) available for anyone who needs support at this tragic and confusing time.
