According to police, an eight-car collision near Los Alamitos killed one person and injured three others, as well as killing a dog.
Robert Acosta, a spokesman for the Los Alamitos Police Department, said the incident happened near Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard at about 6:15 p.m.. Police called it a multi-casualty event.
According to Acosta, the man who died and the dog, were both in the same automobile, a yellow Labrador Retriever.
Two of the three people injured were trapped and had to be extricated, and a third refused to be treated despite medical advice, according to Acosta.
According to Acosta, the inquiry into the cause of the collision is still ongoing.
