Death: Louisville man killed in New Albany double shooting – The second victim of a violent shooting at a Circle K in New Albany has been identified as a 43-year-old Louisville man. According to an initial investigation, Lorin Yelle, 43, was shot and murdered as he walked to his car after exiting the Grant Line Road and Beechwood Avenue gas station, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls.
According to wave3.com, Cherok Douglass, 37, shot his wife, Brandee Douglass, 38, and Yelle at 10 a.m., according to Huls. Before they could be carried to the hospital, both victims died. Investigators believe Yelle had no prior knowledge of Cherok or Brandee Douglass.
Cherok Douglass was seen speeding away from the petrol station after the incident, according to New Albany Police officers. Huls claims he was being pursued by NAPD and Floyd County Sheriff’s Department officers when he crashed his car on Kamer Miller Road and rushed inside The Onion, a local restaurant. He allegedly kidnapped a woman and pushed her into a car at the restaurant after that.
