Long Stratton Fire – Thursday afternoon, July 14, 2022, authorities responded to a structure on Long Stratton’s A140 homes on the opposite side of the Shell Garage. According to reports, the fire in south Norfolk tore through apartments above a row of stores, harming the establishments below.
At 1.48 p.m. this afternoon, July 14, 2022, the fire department received a call from the Long Stratton’s A140 homes on the opposite side of the Shell Garage. Currently, seven appliances from Earlham, Harleston, Sprowston, Wymondham, and Hethersett are on the scene. Two apartments have no roof at all as a result of the fire, while the other has suffered considerable damage.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to Gordon Oliver, station manager for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service. “We were called to a range of flats and commercial premises that were alight. “All persons are safe and accounted for and we are in the process of extinguishing the last of the fire.” Gordon Oliver said.
At 4 o’clock in the afternoon, a spokesman for the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters were still fighting the fire. “The fire started in a flat above the shops and crews remain on scene.” He said. The road has been closed, and Norfolk Constabulary is requesting that drivers stay away from the area.
