Logan William Hooks Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Logan William Hooks Jr., 75, of Washington Township on Friday, May 13, 2022. He was born July 13,1946, in New Kensington, son of the late Logan William Sr. and Mary Irene Cousins Hooks, of Washington Township.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther (Ed) Graff, Constance (David Sr.) Back and Rose Marie (LeWayne) Davison. He was also preceded by beloved nieces, Mary Jo Kinter and Heidi Lynn Fetterman; and nephews, James Back and Ernest Graff. He served in the Navy from 1964-68.
He worked for the Murrysville Phone Company for 41 years. Most importantly, Logan was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica, especially when his grandson joined in. He authored many songs and entertained us all. He was a member of the Avonmore Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
His greatest joy in life was ministry and teaching others about the Bible. He truly believed that he will have an earthly resurrection on a paradise earth and he looks forward to seeing you all again. He was loved by whoever met him.
Logan is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Wendy S. Hooks; three sons, James (Morgan) Hooks, Jeremy (Kelly) Hooks, Josh Hooks, and Jennisa (Juan) Islas; and a beloved grandson, Emmett Logan Hooks. He is also survived by three sisters, Betty (Gerald) Moorehead, Joy Ann (Harry) Whiten and Cindy (Ronald) Griffiths; and many loved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. An additional memorial service for Logan will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022, on Zoom, presented by Jeff Cox.
