The accident that resulted in the death of Linda happened on Thursday morning in Hockley County, Texas. The single accident was reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The crash happened around 1:13 a.m. on Santa Fe County Road, which is located more than three miles north-east of Whiteface where she was pronounced dead.

According to the DPS, Garza made an excessive correction to the left, which caused the car to veer back across the lanes of traffic and end up in a field to the east of Santa Fe Road. The Department of Public Safety reports that her vehicle came to a stop after colliding with a boulder.
The roads had a speed limit of sixty miles per hour that was posted. According to the forecast, the weather will be cloudy. The road was described as dry in the DPS crash report that was filed after the incident. The DPS reported that no one was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Police said Love was driving west on the highway in a Lexus NX 350 when she lost control, drove off the road, and started rolling. According to the police, Love was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the collision.
