Lewistown PA Shooting – From reports reaching the public, a man identified as a Pennsylvania State Trooper was injured following a shooting situation on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He victim was reportedly in the line of duty when the incident occurred. Reports from the State police claim that the trooper was shot and injured by a suspect which is yet to be identified. It happened in the area of the Lewistown State Police barracks along Stoney Creek Drive in Mifflintown.
The trooper was taken to the hospital and there no update as regards his condition had been confirmed at this time. The State police eventually located the shooter around 2:45 pm revealing that there is no threat to the community. The public however has been asked to avoid the area of PSP Lewistown due to the active scene. Read the following statement by Pennsylvania State Police:
A Pennsylvania State Police Trooper was shot and injured in the line of duty in Juniata County today. The PSP member encountered an armed subject in the area of the Troop G, Lewiston Station when the suspect shot and injured the trooper. The trooper was transported to an area hospital. His name and condition are not being identified at this time. The suspect was located by PSP around 2:45 p.m. There is no threat to the community, but the public is urged to avoid the area of PSP Lewistown due to the active scene.
