Leo Lukenas III Death, Bank of America investment banker and former Green Beret dies at 35: The bank announced on Monday the passing of an investment banker and former Green Beret at Bank of America. The New York Office of the Chief Medical Examiner reports that 35-year-old Leo Lukenas III passed away on Thursday from natural causes.
According to the office, the Brooklyn resident passed away from “acute coronary artery thrombus.” The illness results in the accumulation of blood clots inside heart blood vessels. The family was ‘devastated’ by the tragedy, Lukenas’ stepmother told DailyMail.com. “Our focus is on doing whatever we can to support the family and our team, who are devastated,” remarked Bank of America.
The name and age of the person were kept a secret by the bank. According to a person familiar with the matter, the colleague was a former member of the US Green Beret special forces and was a member of the financial institutions group (FIG) unit that provides advice to bank clients on agreements.
Lukenas began working at Bank of America a little more than a year ago, after serving in the military for ten years. He began working at the bank through the Veteran Associate Program. He is originally from California.
“Investment banking associate leveraging a decade of experience as a Green Beret leading high-performing teams in volatile, complex, and ambiguous environments” was how he identified himself on LinkedIn. Les, Lukenas’s twin brother and fellow Green Beret, and his parents survive him.
