Leo Michael Cornils Death – A 31-year-old father of one has passed away. Leo Michael Cornils, a longtime resident of Greendale, Wisconsin died Sunday, May 21, 2023. Leo Cornils was pronounced dead after he suffered from a brief illness. “Our beloved Leo, 31 years old, tragically passed away on May 21st. Leo was a wonderful father, husband, son, friend, trusted colleague, and caregiver who touched the lives of everyone around him. He leaves behind his wife Kayla, daughter, Emelia James (4), and son Cameron Michael (2), along with innumerable extended family, friends, colleagues, and patients.”
A GoFundMe Account has been created by the family to help raise funds for his funeral. According to Leo’s family, he was a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student and would have a great practicing nurse due to his compassion for others. A message on the account reads; Leo’s purpose in this life was to teach all of the meaning of love.”
Leo dedicated his life to his young family and loved ones. He immersed himself in his joy of caring for others as an RN – BSN. Professional compassion for others, and providing joy to all was his natural gift. He was nearly complete with his nurse practitioner program. He would have been so proud to be able to care for so many more patients. A dedicated husband and father of two young children, Leo was wholly committed to his family and planning for their future. He was always the first to offer assistance, loving guidance, and unwavering support to all.
We want to give Leo the memorial he deserves, honor his memory, and say our last goodbyes. In addition, we are hoping to provide funds to assist with care and education for his daughter Emelia, and son Cameron. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Leo’s funeral. Additional funds will be used for the future care and education of his young children. We would be grateful to all if through your generous donations, we could raise $25,000 in order to cover these unforeseen expenses.
My heart is broken over the sudden loss of Leo. He was one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Leo always knew how to make a rough shift more bearable and always had a witty remark/joke to make you laugh. He was one of the first friendly faces I met when I moved to Milwaukee and the the joy he brought to the nursing profession was a true inspiration to me as a new nurse. He was always so selfless and went out of his way to help others.
