Leila Sekic Death – A 22-year-old Missouri woman died and three others were critically injured in a two-vehicle incident on Colorado Highway 9 in Blue River on Sunday, June 4, according to the Colorado State Patrol. A little after 7 p.m., the driver of a southbound Dodge Ram 1500 lost control, drove into the oncoming lane of travel, and crashed head-on with a northbound Honda CRV, according to public information officer and trooper Gabriel Moltrer.
According to Moltrer, the driver of the Honda CRV was killed, and three passengers were seriously injured. Loved ones identified the victim as Leila Sekic of Missouri. According to the Colorado State Patrol, a 27-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 24-year-old woman from St. Louis, Missouri, were all sent to the hospital.
The 34-year-old Fairplay guy who was driving the Dodge Ram was buckled up and unharmed, according to Moltrer. According to reports, the car stopped in the northbound lane’s right shoulder, partially blocking the lane, and faced northwest. Nobody in the Honda was reportedly wearing a seatbelt, according to Moltrer.
According to him, the Honda came to a stop facing southeast, off the right shoulder of the northbound lane. According to Moltrer, excessive speeding and alcohol are suspected. He was unable to disclose the speeds of each car or whether there was a chance of criminal prosecution.
At the scene of the collision, the Colorado State Patrol closed the road, and it stayed closed until well past midnight. The accident is still being looked into.
