Laura Slattery Death – Laura Slattery, 63 years old, a resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away as a result of injuries she had sustained during the accident that took place at 10:00 p.m. at the entrance to the Magothy River between Cape St. Claire and Gibson Island.
On Sunday night, a boater hit another vessel on the Magothy River, causing fatal injuries to a woman named Laura Slattery and another man. The boater then reportedly fled the scene of the accident. Slattery and the adult male were both injured while they were aboard a Wellcraft boat when it collided with a white center console vessel that was approximately 25 feet in length and operated by a person who was not identified.
The operator of the other boat that was involved has not yet been located by the police. He ran away from the scene of the accident immediately after it occurred and was last seen in the region of Deep Creek, which is located off the coast of Cape St. Claire.
The Natural Resources Police of Maryland are looking for the person who was operating the boat. The maximum allowed speed in the channel is 6 knots, which is equivalent to approximately 7 miles per hour. According to the police, the boat that caused the collision was a white center-console vessel that was approximately 25 feet long. It was last seen entering Deep Creek in Cape St. Claire.
