A preliminary report suggests the crash happened shortly after a State Trooper attempted to pull over the motorcyclist for a traffic violation in northwestern Minnesota. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office says the fatal incident occurred around 6:15 Friday evening on a two-lane highway several miles north of Frazee and approximately 6 miles southeast of Detroit Lakes.
The trooper stated that once the emergency lights on his squad vehicle were triggered, the motorcycle replied by accelerating at a very high rate of speed. This was shown by the fact that the trooper indicated this. The trooper reported that he was unable to keep up with the motorbike as it raced towards Frazee to the south. After that, the trooper went out and looked for the motorbike, which he eventually found off the roadway. The driver of the motorbike was also located nearby and was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident. His name has not been made public at this time.
