Laura Hoffman Death – University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance employee Laura Hoffman of Ann Arbor, Michigan has sadly passed away. She died on Thursday 25th May 2023 surrounded by her beloved family. She was confirmed dead through a Facebook post made on Saturday that says “Dean Laura Hoffman passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 25, 2023”. The details surrounding the cause of Laura Hoffman’s death has not been known.

Laura Hoffman Career

Laura Hoffman serves as the assistant dean for Admissions and Enrollment Management here at the university. She was in charge of directing the operations of the Office of Admissions, which includes recruitment, admissions, and the management of enrollment for all of the music, dance, and theater and musical theatre departments. Her office is in charge of the School’s recruitment activities for both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as admissions, auditions/interviews, and orientation for students who are enrolled in the School.

Dean Hoffman has given presentations on admissions and recruitment at national conferences that were put on by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). She travels frequently to meet students and encourage them to give the University of Michigan some thought as an option for their education in the arts.

She was a regular participant in panel discussions that are devoted to the provision of instruction and assistance to prospective art students. She has served in leadership roles at the national level, including as an officer and as the past chair of ICCAM, the Independent Consortium on College Admissions in Music, and she is still actively involved with this organization. She has worked as a consultant in the admissions and enrollment management of performing arts programs, and she has shared her expertise with a variety of institutions that are looking to enhance their enrollment and operations.

Dean Hoffman was the first member of her family to receive a bachelor’s degree. She studied instrumental music education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and then moved to Ann Arbor to pursue graduate studies in musicology. After completing her postgraduate studies, she started working for the School and has since worked her way up through the ranks of staff roles to arrive at the position of leadership that she currently holds.
