Lathrop Shooting Today – On Thursday, June 15, 2023, a driver was hurt following a shooting and an accident on a freeway. In Lathrop, between Highway 120 and E. Louise Avenue, just before 1 p.m., an Amazon big rig was driving northbound on I-5 when it veered off the road, collided with two other vehicles, and then struck a structure. The large rig’s 32-year-old North Carolina male driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified wounds.
After the collision, witnesses called the police to report that they thought they had witnessed shots fired at the large rig. Shots had been fired many times, according to the CHP. The shooting suspect’s identity has remained a secret. I-5 northbound is closed at Highway 120/Manteca Bypass, according to Caltrans. Additionally closed is the connection ramp from northbound I-5 to westbound Highway 120. No anticipated reopening time has been provided.
