A 3rd-alarm fire was been investigated today by the Chattanooga officials.  Earlier today the Chattanooga Fire Department urged that all residents on the 3rd Street to The Highland Park Avenue area should lock up their windows and doors due to smoke emanating from multiple apartment fires in the area.  The 3rd Street in between Glenwood Parkway and Highland Park Ave, extending South to East Main Street at Highland Park Ave and up to Dodds Avenue were also included in the list. A large blaze was reported at the fire at the old Highland Park Baptist Church.

Some hours after fire fighters arrive the scene, Chattanooga Fire Department announced that crews were being pulled away from the structure due to the unstable manner of the fire. At the time of this publication, no injuries have been reported. and the exact status of the fire is not known. A total  umber of 21 fire companies and over 100 fire fighter are at the scene of the blaze.
