Laci Stone, a 2021 Nocona High School graduate, was among those killed. “She would always be so happy, she would always have a smile on her face no matter what and whether you wanted to smile or not,” Laci’s friend Stephany Gutierrez said.
That is how everyone who knew and loved Laci describes her, just less than 24 hours after the freshman University of the Southwest student and golfer was killed in a car accident involving her college sports team’s van and a pickup truck.
Her mother, Chelsea Stone, She shared her sadness on Facebook.
Sharing the story of how Laci convinced her to get a matching heart tattoo, the mother wrote in part, “Lacie’s gone! She’s been an absolute ray of sunshine during this short time on Earth… We’ll never be the same…”
“To know Lacey is to love her,” her former coach and teacher Heather Noble said. “Just a wonderful, wonderful person we will miss.”
