Kris Sanders Death – Kris Sanders, a resident of Southwick, Massachusetts, and a talented DJ passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was 64 years at the time of her death. The news of his death was shared on social media by a friend on Friday, May 19th, 2023. “Another good person taken too soon. He was a DJ at the bar I was a bouncer at and he was a good friend of mine and my friend Jerrett who also passed away in December of 2021. So many kind-hearted people taken too soon.”
Who was Kris Sanders?
Kris A. Sanders was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on May 13, 1959. He is the son of the late William “Ken” Sanders and Judith (Wohlgemuth) Sanders. He graduated from Southwick High School in 1977. As a student, he was on the Cross Country Team, played JV baseball, played the tuba and sousaphone in the band, and sang in the concert choir.
After high school, he went to Holyoke Community College and got an Associate’s degree in Business and a second one in Communication. He was also given a religious license by Universal Life Ministries. Kris got his first job when he was 11. He worked at Edgewood Golf Course. He worked full-time for his father from age 20 to 25. Kris worked as a salesman for Southwoods Magazine for almost 20 years. From 2005 to 2006, and again from 2018 to the present, he has worked at Leisure Time Canvas and Awnings.
About Kris Sanders
Kris was always interested in music. He made his living as a DJ for 42 years. He liked going to weddings, family meetings, and other special events. He also put on singing shows at different places and had a big fan base. He would sing along in his own beautiful way. Kris liked to watch all New England sports in his free time.
He also played in a golf league at Edgewood Golf Course and a pitching league in West Springfield. Kris has been a member of the Elks Lodge for 22 years. From 2005 to 2006, he was an Exalted Ruler, and for 12 years, he was an Officer. Kris was the brother of Kirk Sanders, Dawn Sanders Turgeon, and Angela Whittaker, and Ken Sanders, who were in relationships with Kirk and Dawn. He will be greatly missed, but even more lovingly remembered.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 9 AM – 12 Noon at Southwick Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM at Southwick Congregational Church, 488 College Highway, Southwick.
