He died this morning after battling health issues. Kirk Arrington was 61 years old at the time of his passing. He was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this difficult time.

Who was Kirk Arrington?
Kirk Arrington was born on January 23rd 1962 in Aberdeen, Washington. He was known for Metal Church: Watch the Children Pray (1986), Metal Church: Badlands (1989) and Metal Church: In Harm’s Way (1991). Kirk left Metal Church in 2006 due to health complications from years of struggling with diabetes.
He was initially replaced by Jeff Plate, who had previously played with SAVATAGE and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, and later by Stet Howland, who had played with W.A.S.P. Kirk was an amazing drummer with a wonderful personality and an incredible sense of humour. He was one of the most underrated Metal drummers and such a driving force behind those first several Metal Church albums.

Metal Church is an American heavy metal band formed in 1980. Originally based in San Francisco, California, they relocated to Aberdeen, Washington the following year and briefly called themselves Shrapnel. Led by guitarist and songwriter Kurdt Vanderhoof, the band has released twelve studio albums and is considered to be an integral part of the Seattle heavy metal music scene of the 1980s.
They achieved considerable popularity that decade, with two of their first three albums entering the Top 100 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The band’s early lyrical topics such as conflict and paranoia later expanded into philosophical and social commentary.
