Tribute to Kirby Lyons
The owner of Spivey Auctions in a written statement said he met Kirby Lyons when he assisted with a charity auction at the Greenville Armory and received his apprenticeship license in 1999. After the auction was over, one of the auctioneers (Kirby Lyons) asked me to have a seat beside him for a few minutes. He proceeded to comment on his abilities and gave him some advice since he was new to the industry.
“That is the one and only time I had the pleasure of working with Kirby Lyons. One of the first auctions I can remember going to as a youth was a Kirby Lyons auction and it started my fascination and addiction which has turned into what most see now. I would like to think this is a testament to how a person can affect others in a positive way and never really know it, such as Kirby Lyons did with me, many many years ago.” He added.
Kirby Lyons’ obituary and funeral arrangements will be released the family at a later date.
