Kindergarten teacher Karyn Lombardo discovered dead in Burbank; son charged with murder: Wednesday, the body of the Burbank Unified School District teacher was found in her Burbank home. Her son has been named as the primary suspect in her murder. A representative from the school confirmed that Karyn Lombardo, 57, was a kindergarten teacher at Burbank’s Bret Harte Elementary School.
The district superintendent informed parents and teachers by email that Lombardo had passed away, adding that the news had come “unexpectedly. “According to Burbank Unified Superintendent John Paramo, “during her highly accomplished career, Ms. Lombardo touched the lives of thousands of students, parents, and colleagues, who will be mourning this loss in the days to come. “Her dedication, generosity, and enthusiasm for teaching touched the lives of many people.
Her untimely demise will have far-reaching consequences for Burbank as a whole. The Burbank Unified School District reports that Lombardo taught in a number of capacities, including bilingual education, for over 30 years. Officers and paramedics from Burbank responded to a call of a “unconscious female,” and at approximately 10 o’clock on Tuesday night, they located Lombardo in her house on the 800 block of North Avon Street.
On Wednesday, the police released a statement saying that “life-saving measures were taken by officers and paramedics, but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.” After something happened at the family home, the adult son of Ms. Lombardo was taken into custody based on the facts and information that revealed he was responsible for her death. Arrested for alleged murder, 25-year-old Kyle Lombardo was released on a $2 million bond. He is expected to make an appearance in court on Thursday.
