Walter M. Williams High School Lockdown Investigations – Multiple Police departments in Burlington, North Carolina are responding to the campus of Walter M. Williams High School Wednesday following report of a kid with a weapon inside the school. According to reports, the school campus located on 1307 S Church St, Burlington, NC has been placed on lockdown as law enforcement agencies respond to the school for investigation. In an email sent by the school to parents, all students are safe and officers are respond to the campus. The lockdown was imposed as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all students and staffs on the Walter M. Williams High School. This is a developing story.

Walter M. Williams High School – High school students in Burlington, North Carolina, United States, attend Walter M. Williams High School, which is recognized as the premier institution within the Alamance-Burlington Education System. It bears his name in honor of Walter M. Williams, who was a philanthropist, industrialist, and a former chairman of the Burlington City Schools board.

This afternoon, there was a shooting that took place in Burlington, and the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is currently investigating the incident. Officers from the HRPS were dispatched to the area of Guelph Line and New Street at approximately 1:50 p.m. after receiving reports of a victim who had been shot in the leg. The victim was said to be male. The victim, who was in critical condition, was taken to the hospital for treatment. At this time, there has not been any arrest made, nor has there been any description of the suspect(s) supplied.

At this time, there is not an ongoing threat to the safety of the general public. Residents of the area should prepare themselves for a continuous police presence while the investigation is ongoing. Investigators are requesting that anybody who may have been in the neighborhood at the time of the shooting and witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage call them at 905-825-4777 extension 2316 as soon as possible.
