A motorcyclist from Fairmont was killed on Sunday when he entered a curve on North Carolina State Route 130, met an oncoming car, and then smashed into it while attempting to avoid a collision with another vehicle. The collision took place at 8:42 p.m., approximately 1.5 miles west of Fairmont and immediately to the west of Horne Camp Road. According to the report that was filed by Trooper K.D. Williamson, Trevon Devon Stackhouse, 24, who lives on Fairgrove Road, was driving at an estimated speed of 110 miles per hour when the crash occurred.
According to the investigation, Stackhouse was driving a 2016 Suzuki in the direction of the westbound traffic lane when he entered a curve at a high rate of speed. He was wearing a helmet that was certified by the Department of Transportation.
According to Sergeant R.D. Wright, Chavis and the two passengers in her automobile were transported to the Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, where they were all evaluated, treated, and discharged.
