She was just a few days away from giving birth to a baby girl, according to family members. Charges of feticide and murder have been brought against the three teenagers suspected of shooting her. The incident took place on North Carrollton Avenue close to Renoir Avenue at roughly 12:30 in the morning, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman. Officials named Kerisha Johnson, 36, and her unborn child as the victims. According to the police, Johnson was shot while attempting to pick up people from a party after having just dropped them off there earlier.
According to investigators, Johnson was only a few weeks away from giving birth. One of the suspects was injured in the gunfire, according to Baton Rouge Police Department. The gunmen then re-entered two parked cars and drove off. Porch, who was driving one of those cars, claimed he was shot by an additional shooter who fired at his car as it was driving away.
Porch was later discovered by police at a location on N Ardenwood Drive with a gunshot wound, along with a number of other passengers. When questioned by police, Porch revealed that he had gathered the guns and had someone retrieve them out of his car before they arrived, in addition to admitting to providing the weapons used in the shooting. The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office revealed Porch had previously worked as a part-time correctional employee from February 2023 until his arrest on Sunday.
