Kenneth Munson Death – Kenneth Earl Munson has sadly passed away. He was confirmed dead on Monday, the 27th of March 2023. The news of his death has deeply saddened the hearts of many and left them heartbroken. He died leaving behind his family and loved ones who will forever miss him in a state of grief. He died suddenly at the age of 94.
Who was Kenneth Munson?
Kenneth Munson was a resident of Galesburg, Illinois where he lived until the time of his tragic death. He was usually called Kenny by those who were close to him. Kenny was born on March 21, 1929, in Galesburg, Illinois to the family of Carl Arthur and Jennie Frances Munson. He completed his secondary education in Galesburg High School in the year 1947. He married Nancy Ann Silberer on January 29, 1949 who he met in high school. Together they both had two lovely children, Deborah and James. They spent 64 years together until Nancy passed in 2013.
Kenneth Munson Life and Career
Kenny served as an engineer for BNSF Railroad for over forty years before he retired in 1993. Before the outbreak of COVID in 2020, he usually spent most of his mornings with his old railroad buddies drinking coffee and reminiscing. They mostly talked about the railroad, Galesburg and the good old days. Kenny was also a Master Mason. He recently celebrated 50 years as a member of the Alpha Lodge No. 155.
He enjoyed camping activities. Before Nancy’s death, he and Nancy enjoyed many travels together in their RV with friends and family. He usually collected stamps and coins as a member of his local coin club. Kenny was an big fan and lover of sports. He was a season ticket holder for the Galesburg Silver Streaks basketball team for over a decade and rarely missed a game. He loved college football, basketball, and whether win or lose he never gave up on his beloved Cubbies.
He is survived by his daughter, his son, granddaughter and great grandson as well well as other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, and his sister, Norma Jean McCants.
