Kennedy Kristine Van Asten Death – Family and friends are mourning the death of 21-year-old Kennedy Van Asten, of Little Chute, Wisconsin who passed away after battling severe eating disorder. According to Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home obituary site, the UW-Oshkosh graduate died Friday, May 19, 2023 after long battling with the illness. She was pronounced dead following the disorder. The death of the Little Chute High School is a big loss to her entire family and all her friends including those who attended the same schools as she did.
On Friday, May 19, 2023, after a lengthy struggle with an eating issue, Little Chute died away quietly. Her parents, Doug and Amy (Hofacker) Van Asten, welcomed her into the world on January 11, 2002. Kennedy was a Little Chute High School class of 2020 alum. She continued her study at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, where she studied psychology and consistently achieved top academic honors. Her plan for the future included opening a facility where persons with eating problems may receive care in a supportive setting. Kennedy enjoyed dancing and crafting handmade gifts for others.
She was not afraid of anything, and she loved spending time outside and around campfires when she was younger. Kennedy valued time spent with her mother and siblings, particularly during family game nights, movie marathons, and episodes of Family Feud. Kennedy was a generous man at heart. She was always taking good care of Kade and his pals and loved to shower them with gifts. Her wit and humor were unforgettable. She is survived by her parents, Doug (Amy) Van Asten, and brother, Kade Van Asten, as well as her maternal grandmother, Geraldine Hofacker, and paternal grandfather, Vicky Van Asten, as well as her Godparents, Teri and Lance Simons, and a large extended family and group of friends.

Many of Kennedy’s family members and friends have passed on before her, including her maternal grandpa Henry “Hank” Hofacker, paternal grandfather Melvin “Butch” Van Asten, aunt Kristine “Krissy” Hofacker, and uncle David Hofacker. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, with Father Ronald Belitz officiating and Deacon Jeff Hofacker assisting at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Everyone on the 7th and 8th floors of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Appleton’s intensive care unit is especially appreciated by the family. Sincere appreciation to everyone who came to visit, brought food, prayed, showed love, and offered support.
