Kendall Harris Death – YMCA Senior Director of Equity Advancement Kendall Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina has sadly passed away. He died leaving family, friends and colleagues heartbroken. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook publication made on Monday 24th July 2023 that says “Kendall Harris – More than a man, more than my mentor…you were a MOVEMENT! My heart is heavy in hearing about your passing”. The actual cause of Kendall Harris’ death has not been disclosed.

For more than 24 years, Kendall Harris has been an integral part of the YMCA, playing a pivotal role in program development, evolution, and innovation within our Community Supported Programs. His contributions have been instrumental in establishing the highly acclaimed Lightner Y Achievers Program, which has become the leading recruitment tool for staff of color throughout our Association. Kendall’s pioneering spirit has also led the YMCA to actively participate in initiatives such as the Racial Equity Institute and the Groundwater Experience.
As a strategic leader for the Lightner Y Achievers Program, Kendall Harris has dedicated himself to creating and implementing structures that address and reduce the disparities faced by boys and young men of color. His vision and dedication have had a profound impact on empowering these individuals, enabling them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
