According to newschannel9.com, Kelly McCoy was born and raised in Chattanooga. Keven West, the KZ-106 Midday Host and Assistant Program Director, began her radio career at WZRA, Chattanooga’s first NewsRadio station, before moving to WGOW-AM as Programming Secretary and then on-air host at the Top 40 music station, to classic rock WFXS, and finally to classic rock KZ-106, where she was the area’s #1 midday radio host for two decades.

Kelly had a close relationship with artists, performances, events, and, most importantly, listeners. She was also a voice for people who are unable to speak, such as animals. The Humane Educational Society helped Kelly’s Pet Project find homes for hundreds of dogs.
