Kellen Mcintosh Death – A 16-year-old UConn student has died after he was pinned by a rolling vehicle while helping his sibling move into the University of Connecticut last week. The victim has been identified as Kellen McIntosh. According to reports, Kellen McIntosh passed away on Monday, the 4th of September 2023 from injuries sustained from a freak accident while helping another person. He is survived by his parents, a sister, and a brother.
How did the accident happen?
The accident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on August 27th within the North Residence Halls complex situated on the Storrs campus. McIntosh, a UConn student, had been assisting another individual with their move-in process at the residence hall. During this time, a vehicle, which was not properly in gear, started to roll, prompting McIntosh to attempt to halt it, according to the university’s statement.

According to a statement issued at the time by Stephanie Reitz, a UConn spokesperson, he sustained severe injuries when the vehicle trapped him against a building. Reitz further reported that the young individual was subsequently transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center via ambulance. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has officially classified McIntosh’s passing as an accidental event.

Steve Brainard, a resident of Cheshire, Connecticut has set up a GoFundMe page to assist the family with funeral and other expenses during this difficult time. The goal for the page “Donate in memory of Kellen McIntosh” was set at $10,000. So far, it has raised $11,169 USD. “The family will have medical bills and funeral expenses to contend with.”
