Keith Conlon death - Man charged for fatal shooting in Tallaght( Diarmuid Phelan

Keith Conlon was fatally shot in Tallaght, and 53-year-old Diarmuid Phelan has been charged with the crime. Mr. Conlon was shot and critically injured on farmland near Tallaght’s Hazel Grove.

Keith Conlon was reportedly shot last Tuesday afternoon, when he was with a group of local males. The father of four died at Tallaght University Hospital yesterday. A dog that was with the men was also shot and killed.

Garda Detective Michael McGrath provided arrest, charge, and caution evidence. He told the court that he detained Mr. Phelan at 11:23 p.m. last night and that when he was charged with Mr. Conlon’s murder, he did not respond.

His lawyer, Eddie O’Connor, stated that he would not be making any applications on Mr. Phelan’s behalf at this time, and Judge McNamara noted that no application for legal aid had been made. Sources say there was no application for bail because in a murder case, bail can only be granted by the High Court.

Mr. Phelan was remanded in custody and ordered to appear in Cloverhill District Court via video link next Friday. The reasons for his actions are not known yet, though investigations are still on.
