Keauhou Place Suicide – Earlier today, an incident occurred in Kakaako that is currently being investigated by the Honolulu Police Department. Witnesses report that a little boy was spotted climbing over a high-rise balcony, causing a tense and frightening situation. The investigation continued for hours on Keawe Street, with the road being temporarily closed and over a dozen police vehicles present.
Multiple witnesses near the scene reported seeing the child hanging on the side of a balcony at Keahou Place. Fortunately, a woman in another unit saw the child holding on to the railing and was able to assist to bring the child to safety. Meanwhile, emergency services received a report of a fall at Keauhou Place at around 11:20 a.m., and firefighters found a woman who had suffered a traumatic fall.
Life support was provided until EMS arrived, and the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition with multiple injuries. Following the incident, authorities determined that it was an attempted suicide and spoke to the child’s father, who confirmed that his 6-year-old son was safe and sound, thanks to the quick thinking of another person. The Honolulu Police Department continues to investigate this case.
