Kayla Harris Obituary, Death : Kayla Renee’ Harris, 32, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2022 at her home in Waxhaw, North Carolina. Kayla was born on May 12, 1989 in Walnut Creek, California to parents Mindy Alida Mashore and Richard Christopher Rodgers, Sr.

Kayla is a graduate of Burncoat High School in Worcester, MA. After graduating from Burncoat, she continued her education by receiving cooking accreditations at Kitchen on Fire culinary arts school. While Kayla had her Certified Personal Training designation through ISSA, she was using her caring and nurturing spirit by working as an R.N. for Novant Health while studiyng to be a Nurse Anesthetist at UNC-Charlotte.

On April 18, 2016, Kayla married the love of her life, Maurice Lynell Harris in Oakland, California. While Kayla was born and raised in Northern California she also spent time living in Massachusetts, Texas, Southern California and Virginia before settling in North Carolina.

Kayla used her gift for organization and love of service for others as a small business owner and entrepreneur; student and nurse; chef; Certified Personal Trainer; interior decorator; DIY queen; and all around Artistic Creative. In her spare time, Kayla loved spending time with family and friends; Bible Study; fitness and exercise; singing and music; doing hair and makeup; photography; and reading.

Kayla will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She possessed a beautiful spirit that radiated from her bright smile and offered a foundation of love and a sense of home to whomever she met. Kayla was the glue for her family bond, which extended well beyond the walls of her home.

She was a faithful Christian and a proud member of Grace Covenant Church in Virginia as well as Elevation Church in North Carolina. Most importantly, Kayla will be remembered by all those who met her as a shining light, challenging each of us to carry on her commitment to humble service and spiritual dedication.

In addition to her parents Mindy and Richard, and husband Maurice, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her precious children: Brooklynn Harris-Earley (10), Bailey Harris (7), Kaisley Harris (4) and Berkeley Harris (2); grandmother Judy Mashore (materal grandmother); Lynell and Carmen Harris (in-laws); Sara Rodgers (stepmother); brothers: Richard Rodgers, II, Damon Christopher Rodgers, Noah Rodgers, and Evan Rodgers; niece Adalynn Rodgers; aunts and uncles: Marilyn and Gill Byrd Sr., Justin and Melissa Mashore, and Damon Mashore; cousins: Gill Byrd, II, Jairus Byrd, Jai Byrd, Mackenna & Jordan Morgan, Gunner Morgan, Kayle Mashore, Teegan Mashore, Torrin Mashore, Dalton Mashore, and Tevis Mashore.
