Who Is William Cosden Jr.?

Katherine Devine, a 14-year-old girl from Seattle in King County, Washington, was murdered and raped by William Cosden Jr., a notorious American rapist and murderer. People were interested in the murder case shortly after the episode of Evil Lives Here: Season 13, Sisters in Silence was shown on Investigation Discovery and brought to their attention. The episode was titled “Sisters in Silence.”

In Maryland, where the murder of Katherine Devine took place, William Cosden Jr. is currently serving a term of life in prison. He was being held in custody at the North Branch Correctional Institution at the time of our interview. In addition to being found guilty of murder, he was also found guilty of rape in a separate case and was sentenced to serve a total of 48 years in prison for that crime. He will remain incarcerated in the Washington State Prison until the day he dies.

William Cosden Jr. coerced his two sisters, Karen and Susan, into maintaining a secret about something he had done. When they became adults, they confronted their trauma caused by these secrets. Even one of the sisters faced mortality. In spite of the obstacles they face, the sisters reunite in an attempt to rectify the harm done to them.
