7 arrested after Kamil Milczarczyk’s death – Kamil Milczarczyk, 24, was stabbed to death on Princes Dock Street in Hull, and eight people, including a former Hull FC Academy player, have been charged with his murder. Mason Opie-Palmer, 19, from Dawnay Drive, Anlaby, played outside back for the Black and Whites’ under-18s squad in the previous season. He had been part of the club’s youth program, but his contract was terminated in October after he had never played for the first squad.
Hull stabbing suspects arrested
Seven other accused, including Opie-Palmer, who were also in jail, appeared before Hull Crown Court at the same time. A pair of 17-year-olds from Wetherby Young Offenders’ Institution appeared via video link, and a 16-year-old who was not in detention but in the care of the local authorities also appeared. Earlier in the day, some of the accused had also made an appearance in Hull Magistrates’ Court. There were five uniformed police officers waiting outside the courtroom before the session began.
At least two of them showed up to the courtroom proceedings. The courtroom was full, and the door was held wide so that some spectators could observe and listen from outside. There were additional law enforcement officials and adolescent offender service professionals present in court. Many of the defendants’ relatives or other backers packed the courtroom. However, none of Mr. Milczarczyk’s relatives showed up to court.
The case is the most recent in a string of murder trials that have taken place before the court in recent weeks. A murder inquiry has been opened after the death of a man who was attacked in a bar and described as a “loving and devoted dad.” Matthew Adams died four days after the assault that took place at the Gough Arms in West Bromwich. His death was attributed to the injuries he acquired in the attack. On the morning of March 19th, an assault occurred at a venue on Jowetts Lane.
After a brief stay at a Walsall hospital, Matthew went home on March 23 in an attempt to recover before an ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital that night. On the day he was brought there, he died. On March 25, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy, a 37-year-old woman, and two 41- and 51-year-old men on suspicion of murder. After posting bond, the suspects were freed from custody.
On this day, Thursday, March 30th, a fifth suspect was apprehended and is now being detained in custody.
