Kali Turner Death – Well-known American parachutist and Emily Griffith Technical College graduate has passed away. Kali Turner, of Tampa, Florida, died on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, following a wingsuit accident in Brazil. The longtime Salt Lake City, Utah resident was pronounced dead after she fell 800 meters down at the Rampa do Cabrito in Castelo, in the south of Espírito Santo. The 33-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
This past Sunday (26/2), American parachutist Kali Alecia Turner passed away after leaping from Castelo’s Rampa do Cabrito. In order to jump, 33-year-old Kali wore a wingsuit, a gliding suit designed for high-performance flight. The apparatus is also referred to as a “bat suit”. According to the Casa Militar do Esprito Santo’s Operations and Air Transport Center (Notaer), Kali Turner jumped from a rock that was about 800 meters high. However, the American paratrooper encountered equipment issues, which nearly resulted in a free fall.
She jumped in the morning, but her body wasn’t discovered until the afternoon, according to Notaer. He was discovered by the rescue team in a closed forest area with the aid of a helicopter. In order to hoist the body to the aircraft until they could fly it to a location that permitted the landing, agents had to rappel down from the aircraft.
The Legal Medical Service (SML) of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim received Kali Turner’s body to be examined before releasing it to her family. The paratrooper documented his adventures on Instagram, including balloon rides, parachute jumps, and cliff jumps. Another athlete perished in Brazil in February of 2021—roughly two years ago—after jumping while wearing a wingsuit. Salsabil Bennani, a Moroccan naturalized American citizen, fell to his death at Pedra da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro’s south at the age of 42. He slipped off and landed on a wall known as the Emperor’s Head.
A friend of Turner wrote, “I hate everything about this post and the fact that you’re gone, but I’m so proud of how you lived without boundaries. I know that you left doing what you loved. Fly free, my beautiful friend. You will be missed and loved forever.”
